Dear Old Boys

Last week I received an email which suggested the total abandonment of 2020 and the recommendation that we move on to begin 2021 immediately. The sentiments resonated with me and I expect may with many of you too. It certainly has been a challenging few months with widespread drought, the virus and economic subsidence. Many of you will be under extreme pressure as the above factors take their toll and my thoughts are with you.

I suspect it may become darker still before the new dawn and, as a consequence, the ROBA Executive has regrettably taken the decision to postpone this year's Decade Reunions scheduled for Queen's Birthday. The Organisers have also postponed the 1964 Originals' gathering that was to take place in April. It is our sincere hope that both events will be back in our calendars for next year. In the mean- time I thank the facilitators for their work to date.

At the College, many events, including sporting, cultural, travel, assemblies and chapel, have also had to be cancelled and it is proving both disappointing and frustrating for the boys as Senior Management take wise and necessary steps to keep the College community safe.

It will certainly be good to get to the other end of these extraordinary times. In the meantime I wish you all well. Remember Nil Mortalibus Ardui Est.
